Here are some guidelines to help as you prepare your items for the sale. Click here to see what is acceptable and not acceptable for the sale.

Supplies Needed

HANGERS – in order to protect your clothing items we only accept plastic hangers. Find plastic hangers at Wal-Mart, Target, Dollar Stores. Retail plastic hangers are acceptable too.

STRING TAGS – Avery White Marking Tags Strung (size 1.75 x 1.093 inches) are required on each item to affix our barcode labels to. You can find these at Wal-Mart, office supply stores, the Rhea Lana Store or large quantities may be purchased from Amazon.

You’ll also need re-sealable bags (for shoes, small toys, etc…), masking tape, scotch tape, sharpie, and safety pins. For large quantities of quality safety pins we recommend ordering from Cleaners Supply .

If you would like to print your barcodes at home you’ll need adhesive address labels size 1” X 2 5/8” (30 up). We recommend ordering from Amazon Here. Please note: all labels printed at home MUST be printed in color.

Clothing

The better they look, the better they sell! Please take time to wash and de-wrinkle. Check for stains, broken zippers, torn hemlines, etc. Pay attention to excessive fade, pilling or odor. During check in, we will not receive any item that is not in great condition.

Use plastic hangers only and in a size so items won't slip off.

Holiday dressy outfits, dress-up play clothes/costumes, Halloween, Thanksgiving, any winter holiday, Valentine and fall / winter prints are all welcomed at the fall event. Also, include swimsuits for winter lessons.

Please save sandals, sundresses, shorts (except athletic shorts), capris, flip-flops, Easter and 4th of July themes and associated spring/summer prints until the spring event.

Use pant hangers or safety pin pants/skirt to a hanger (do not fold over-they slide off or bunch up).

Safety pin all sets and accessories securely together. Pieces need to be viewable without unpinning or unpackaging.

Special considerations for infant, maternity and juniors. Be picky! Infant clothing is abundant, bring your best, bundle and price well to sell.

Maternity - please bring only your best in current styles.

Juniors shoppers are picky! We will accept adult sizes, but be sure items appeal to your teen / young adult. See 'Juniors' for more details.

Shoes

Please only bring shoes in clean, excellent condition! (No toe damage or excessive wear on soles.) Put your consignor number and price on masking tape on the bottom or inside of the shoes AND safety pin the price tag to a shoe lace or through the shoe eyelet. Zip-tie shoes together (preferred) or put the shoes and price tag inside ziploc bag.

No flip-flops or sandals for the fall/winter sale.

WE WILL NOT ACCEPT SHOES WITH SCUFFED TOES, DIRTY OR DISCOLORED SOLES. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT USED SHOES IN BOXES.

Bedding & Blankets

It is best to package a bedding set together in A clear plastic bag with zipper. XL bags or mesh laundry bags at the dollar stores are perfect.

Other blankets, sheets, etc. sell best when hung on a pant hanger or pinned to a regular hanger.

Hang and pin blankets over hangers so that shoppers can see them. If they are small receiving blankets, group 2 or 3 together in a Ziploc bag and seal with clear plastic tape. Safety pin tag to the outside of the Ziploc bag.

We do not accept Queen or King size bedding or blankets.

Loose Items

Bottles, bibs, rattles, socks (very clean only), bows, etc group together appropriately in Ziploc bags. Seal with clear packing tape. Tape tag to Ziploc bag. Write your consignor number and price on the Ziploc with a Sharpie in case the tag comes off during the sale.

Please bundle similar items to create a minimum $3 value. This will help them sell and increase your check.

Note - nipples are not accepted with used bottles and we do not accept used pacifiers.

Toys, Furniture, Equipment

Must be clean and in working order (batteries included.) Small parts must be bagged and attached to the main part very securely. If parts get separated it will not sell. Bring tools to assemble items that require assembly. Games should be taped closed. Puzzles, books, videos and small toys should be grouped accordingly and put in Ziploc bags. Secure with clear packing tape and pin tag to the Ziploc bag. It is also good to write your consignor number and info on the Ziploc bag with a Sharpie in case the tag comes off. Puzzles should be wrapped securely in clear Saran wrap to keep the pieces intact. TOYS NOT PACKAGED APPROPRIATELY WILL BE TURNED AWAY.

We will only accept Disney and Build a Bear stuffed animals in like-new condition or stuffed animals with an additional function (i.e. sing/dance/pillow).

Large Toys (i.e. Little Tikes, Step 2) and Furniture are in high demand! When tagging large toys also attach a piece of masking tape to the toy with your consignor information. This will enable us to sell your toy even if the tag comes off! We sell 95% of Toys, Furniture and Baby Equipment that are priced well and in good condition!

Toy recall information- Due to the high number of toy recalls, we will be inspecting toys very carefully. We reserve the right to pull any toy that we think might have been recalled. Car Seats

Your car seat must have been manufactured within the past five years. It must not be subject to recall or have been in an accident. You may check the following website for current recalls: www.carseat.org/Recalls/179NP.pdf All seat covers and straps must be thoroughly cleaned. You will be asked to sign a car seat waiver stating your car seat has all the pieces, is in excellent condition and not more than five years old. Car seats will be closely inspected for safety reasons. If your car seat includes an expiration date, there must be one year remaining until the expiration.

Furniture Nook!

All nursery and children's furniture are welcome and we also accept any other household furniture pieces to our sale. (Desks, tables, chairs, etc).All furniture must be in EXCELLENT condition.

Cribs

Due to the thousands of recalls and the crib regulations being raised, we will not sell any crib manufactured before December 2011. Contact the manufacturer of your crib to find out if it is recalled. Most companies will send you a repair kit or give you instructions on how to return your crib for a refund. We do accept Pack n Plays and Bassinettes.

Juniors

We accept all boys and girls sizes up to size 20 and junior sizes up to 15 in teen styles. Adult sizes accepted if they meet the following criteria:

Clothing MUST be in styles and brands appealing to juniors. Popular brands such as Abercrombie, Buckle Brands, Miss Me, Pink, Nike, Rock Revival, True Religion, and Under Armour are good examples. Acceptance of adult sized items in juniors clothing is at the discretion of Rhea Lana's.
